ADMISSIONS
All new students are admitted to the YATP by placement audition. Placement auditions are scheduled by appointment, on a space available basis several months prior to the beginning of each new term. To schedule an audition, email FMPATheatre@aol.com or call 972-724-0727.

To make sure you receive notification of the next upcoming audition date, please subscribe to FMPATNews, the online playbill of the theatre. Click 'Contact' above and enter your information. Make sure to select Young Artist Training Program as one of your preferences.

The faculty is looking for bright, naturally gifted children. No previous experience is required for beginning level programs.

What to prepare for the Audition:
For Music Theatre Admissions (13 years and younger): Children need not prepare anything for the audition, but come in comfortable clothing with a parent or guardian. At the auditions, they will work with a faculty member on exercises relating to the program to determine their natural ability and past training. The faculty will then advise parents as to the suitability of the program for the child.

For Music Theatre Teen/College Prep Admissions: Candidates should prepare two 16-bar songs and be prepared to dance. Please bring sheet music in the correct key, as well as a performance resume and references.

For Acting Teen/College Prep Admissions: Candidates should prepare a one minute monologue at scheduled audition, as well as provide a performance resume and references.

For Acting students (10-13 years): Children should prepare a 30 second monologue, reading or poem at scheduled audition.
