Founded in 1993 as Expressions Performing Arts School, FMPAT has been training young artists from over the entire Metroplex for over 15 years. The Young Artists Training Program (YATP) is a professional training program that coaches hundreds of youth (ages 6 ½ -College Prep) desiring to gain skills in all areas of the performing arts including Dance, Musical Theatre, Acting, and Voice. Since the educational programs are able to happen at the theatre, youngsters gain the added opportunities of watching many professional actors, singers and dancers work and get the feel of what a job in the arts is really about.

Students are admitted to the school by a short audition placement interview. Faculty is looking for bright, naturally gifted children whom are ready to take direction well for the program. Previous experience is not required. YATP accepts pupils by term (Fall/August, Spring/Dec.-Jan., Summer/March-June) on a space available basis. Limited openings each year are granted first to returning, and then to new students.

A NOTE from FMPAT Executive Director, Stephanie Riggs:
Dear Potential New Student & Parents,
Thank you for your inquiry into performing arts training and education for your young artist(s). Information has been posted on this web site for your convenience on our programs. Make sure to click ‘Contact’ and follow instructions to join our email newsletter list to make sure you receive reminders on placement auditions, events, and performances at FMPAT.

All students are admitted to the program by placement auditions. We feel that it is important to the quality of our program and classes that each and every child is interviewed prior to admittance to ensure that he/she is placed in the most appropriate class for personality, ability, and goals. This makes for happier students, teachers, parents, and a stronger program over all. We accept a very limited number of students, so early auditioning and registration is a priority to avoid disappointment. Click ‘Admissions’ for more information.

Make sure to read about all of the talented faculty’s biographies on the ‘Faculty’ page of the web site. Please note that the Faculty is always open to your questions and comments. Training is interactive, and while our Faculty Members are experts in their field, you – the parents, are experts on your children. Communication is the key to building the best training program for the children.

We look forward to answering all of your questions and meeting you in person at our next placement auditions!

Sincerely,
Stephanie Riggs
